After
an early land transfer from your hotel in La Paz to Copacabana,
you will board the Catamaran Cruise Ship, and have lunch
while sailing to the Sun Island, the legendary birth place
of the Inca Empire. Visits will be made to the Inca Garden,
Inca staircase and fountain then to the Inti Wata Cultural
Complex including the Ekako Underground Museum. You will
see traditional medicines, the Titikaka Reed Shipbuilders
display center, the Pachamama agricultural Inca terraces,
a handicraft center, the Intica lounge and the Manco Kapac
look out. The Inti Wata Complex on the Sun Island includes
a unique sailing experience aboard a huge Titikaka traditional
vessel to enjoy a panoramic view of the Pilkakaina Inca
Palace. At the end of the day you will be taken back to
your hotel in La Paz.
One
and a half day, one night cruise
As
per the itinerary above but in the evening you will dock
at Challapampa village on the Sun island. Visitors will
have the opportunity to interact with one of the most unspoiled
indigenous Titikaka villages through an innovative program
organized with the local community sharing rituals, ceremonies,
folkloric demonstrations, visiting their own museums, houses,
chapel, school, sailing in their vessels to an Inca holy
temple, walking through Inca trails and receiving authentic
welcome gifts. In the evening you will enjoy a candle-lit
dinner and overnight on board the Catamaran in lake view
cabins with private facilities. The next day you will continue
cruising and enjoying the views on the way back to shore
and then have a transfer back to La Paz arriving early afternoon.
